So I have windows live mail the newest version, I believe from 2011. I need to change a number for sending mail from 25 to 465. Went into options and can't find the numbers I need. Will have a tech come in tomorrow but would like to see if I can fix this myself. I can always cancel an appointment if I need to. Any suggestions? I'm receiving mail just not able to send. Have windows 7.

when you go to edit an account i think what you're looking for is on the advanced page. you should see all the boxes for ports there, and sounds like this is a SSL connection too.

comcast came in here because I couldn't get into windows live mail properties. He couldn't either until he used the mouse. Alt S for sending somehow kept saying strange things too like ribbon. I got into history and messed around with undoing items. I have a demo version of jaws 14 on here; use 13 but want to investigate 14 with flexible web. Anyway, the issues got fixed, but any suggestions on how to get into windows live mail properties are appreciated.

If Windows Live Mail is such that you can't manage your accounts, using your available accessibility, you need another mail client. Habve you considered Thunderbird?

How this happened I don't know but there was a number after my email address. I tbhink the guy from comcast who came in here and put the new port numbers in put in a different email address than my original one. I deleted it, and now everything works fine. Thanks for the help. I will switch to thunderbird if I have any more issues with windows live mail.
